Sunday Stadium Review - Bears

 Chicago Bears

Name of Stadium: Soldier Field
Capacity: 61,500
Game Attended: First game of the 2010 season versus Lions with Jordan
Worked a game at this stadium? No.

This was the first time I had ever been to a football game on opening weekend.  The excitement was overwhelming.  Especially since we had run a half marathon earlier that morning!

We didn't quite get there in time for kickoff, but we made it to our seats before the 1st quarter ended.  We were so excited to be at such a historic venue - Soldier Field!  It was too bad that our legs were so tired and we didn't walk around and look at more things in the concourse of the stadium.

Our seats were awesome!  We were in the lower level of the endzone...and on the end of the aisle, too!  Even though we were exhausted, we had a lot of fun at the game.  Not only was it the first game of the season, but it was a conference rivalry, too.  Bears v. Lions!  It was a close game, too!  We even saw the Calvin Johnson catch-no catch in the endzone that rocked the football world for a few weeks back in 2010.  Apparently, he didn't keep control when he went to the ground.  It was a pretty big deal back then.  Most commentators still discuss catches/no catches in a whole new way because of this particular incident.

Overall, the atmosphere at the stadium was awesome!  Lots of excitement.  Beautiful day.  Definitely a fun environment.

Andrea :)
